Event Details

Engineers, managers, and supervisors are often appointed as GMR 2.1 Officers without their roles and responsibilities being fully explained. This appointment carries significant responsibility not only for the individual, but also for subordinates and the long-term sustainability of the business.

With increasing legal scrutiny and enforcement, legal liability has become one of the highest risks facing organisations across all industries. In terms of the OHS Act, serious negligence can result in the Department of Labour shutting down operations for up to six months, while the employer remains liable for employee salaries.

This workshop provides practical, focused guidance to help GMR 2.1 appointees clearly understand their duties, maintain compliance, and reduce personal and organisational legal risk. The facilitator will also share practical methods to stay audit-ready continuously, rather than preparing under pressure just before inspections or ISO audits.

Course Approach

  • Practice Real-world examples are worked through to contextualise the GMR 2.1 role.
